The North is famous for the alpine peaks, the Red River Delta, Halong Bay (often visited from Hanoi) and Hanoi City.
The Central is known for spectacular beaches, dunes, and lagoons, the delightfully well-preserved ancient port of Hoi An and the ancient imperial city of Hue.
The South is home thousands of archipelagic islands besides Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) as well as green fields and sleepy villages in the Mekong Delta.
