Krabi, on the west coast of southern Thailand , a coastal province, abounds with countless natural attractions that never fail to impress tourists.
This market Thai town that was around long before international tourists started to visit the area. The charm of this land is known worldwide for its white beaches and cluster islands.
Krabi covers 4,708 square kilometres. Various archaeological evidence proves its famous ancient community. Krabi marine area covers more than 130 islands.
The province is separated into 8 amphoes: Muang Krabi, Ao Leuk, Khao Phanom, Klong Thom, Koh Lanta, Plai Phraya, Lam Thap and Nua Khlong.
The climate is same as in Phuket: 2 seasons, dry and rainy.
Apart from tourism, the major income for Krabi is from agriculture, especially from palm oil, of which Krabi has the largest plantations of Thailand.
The beaches of Ao Nang, Railay and Klong Muang are quite close to the town, while the stunning islands of Phi Phi and Lanta can be reached in a few hours by boat.

Also known as "Phra Buddha Kodom." The width of its lap span is 5 metres, 9 inches and its height is 12 metres. From the top of the temple you can see beautiful scenery of Koh Phangan and Bophut Beach. The top of the mountain where the big Buddha, Chedi altars are is an amazing place to see. |
Crab Sculpture
The giant Sea Crab and the White-bellied Sea Eagle sculptures are located along Krabi river. It signifies the fertility of the mangrove forest.
